Sawara-hariko masks by Yoshiro Kamata

"Sawara hariko", a papier-mache craft is a long inherited tradition in Sawara, Chiba.
We are exhibiting craftsman Yoshiro Kamata's hariko masks at "DO", from 1/13(Sat) to 1/31(Wed). See the indefinable look and charm of the masks to start off the year, and it should put a smile on your face.
Foxes, rabbits, owls and "kappa"s - a mythological creature from Japanese tales -. The colorful appearance and unique expressions is somewhat art-like, and should be a nice accent in your interior.
Besides masks, we also have dolls in stock.
Most of the works are available for purchase. Don't miss the chance.
